vMenu

Admin menu Supported

A staff panel for vMenu servers

vMenu is an admin menu, and FiveStaff does not pretend otherwise

It keeps no character, no money, no inventory, no job and no owned vehicles — so there is nothing for FiveStaff to read or edit, and every framework method says so plainly instead of guessing. Everything that is not framework data works exactly as it does anywhere else.

What FiveStaff sees on vMenu

  • Characters vMenu keeps none
  • Money none to read
  • Jobs none to read
  • Items none to read
  • Bans imported from bans.json

Framework data

What FiveStaff reads and changes on vMenu

What FiveStaff reads

  • Nothing from the framework, because there is none
  • Your existing vMenu ban list, on import

What staff can change

  • Nothing to the framework

Every one of these goes through the same pipeline as a ban: permission-checked and written to the audit log with what it was before. Item, money, job and vehicle edits can be put back in one press from the player’s profile.

In the panel

The screens your staff will use

Real screens from the panel, taken on our demo server. None of these needs a framework, so a vMenu server has every one of them.

One page per player: a screen from the FiveStaff panel
One page per player Their history newest first, their characters, reports, bans and trust in tabs, and a card to act on them.
Everybody who has joined: a screen from the FiveStaff panel
Everybody who has joined Search by any part of a name or a whole identifier, and filter by who is online, banned or worth a second look.
Live view: a screen from the FiveStaff panel
Live view On Pro, watch a player’s game as it happens, and freeze, heal or revive them while you do.
The player log: a screen from the FiveStaff panel
The player log Money, items, vehicles and deaths, searchable by player, item, amount and time, with what is collected beside it.
Global bans: a screen from the FiveStaff panel
Global bans Where Import bans lives, and the list of serious cheaters shared between FiveStaff servers that choose to take part.

Player log

What the player log picks up on vMenu

There is no framework to listen to, and the log still has plenty to say.

On every server

  • Joins and leaves
  • Deaths and kills, from the game itself: how, by whom and with what
  • txAdmin’s scheduled restarts and shutdowns, and resources stopped or started by hand
  • Every line your scripts already send to qb-log, kept word for word
  • Your own events, with one line of Lua: exports.fivestaff:logEvent
Your own script, server side
-- one line, and it is searchable by item and amount
exports.fivestaff:logEvent(source, 'drugs.weed.sold', {
    item = 'weed_brick', amount = 5, price = 2500
})

The log is off until you switch it on, and a category you leave off costs your server nothing. The player log and alerts

The small print

Where vMenu is different

The details a tool gets wrong when it treats every framework as the same one, and what FiveStaff does instead.

Everything else is unaffected

Player records, in-game reports, warnings, kicks, bans and appeals, live view, calls, the player log and the Discord bot do not touch framework data and work the same on a vMenu server as on a QBCore one.

Bring your bans with you

Open Global bans, press Import bans, choose vMenu and upload its bans.json. Each ban keeps its reason and its end date, so the people you have already thrown out stay out. vMenu does not record when a ban was placed, so those are dated the day you import them.

Install

Put it on your vMenu server

One resource, a few lines in server.cfg, and no changes to your framework or your scripts.

  1. 1

    Add your server

Sign in to the panel with Discord, press Add server, give it a name and choose a plan.

  2. 2

    Download the resource

On your server’s dashboard, press Download the resource. The fivestaff folder inside already holds your server key, so there is nothing to fill in.

  3. 3

    Add it to server.cfg

Upload the folder to your resources, keeping its name exactly fivestaff, and add the lines opposite anywhere in the file.

  4. 4

    Restart and check

Restart, or type ensure fivestaff in the server console. Within seconds the dashboard says Online. With no framework running, FiveStaff starts in standalone mode, where everything but the character, money and inventory screens works.

Why staff use it

Built for the people who keep a vMenu server fair

A record of every player, a log of every action, and powers handed out one at a time.

One record for every player

Whichever character somebody is on, their warnings, bans, reports and notes sit on one profile, and a ban checks every identifier they connect with — so a new account is not a fresh start on your vMenu server.

Nobody needs in-game admin

Your team is a list in the panel. Staff act from the panel, from Discord or in game with /staff, and you hand out no ace permissions to make that work.

Each power is its own permission

Warning, kicking, banning, watching and reading the log are separate permissions, so a trial moderator gets what they need and no more.

Bans hold when we cannot be reached

Your game server keeps its own copy of your ban list and checks it on every connect, so a ban still applies if it cannot reach FiveStaff.

Questions people ask first

Can FiveStaff and vMenu run on the same server?

Yes. FiveStaff runs alongside vMenu and switches nothing in it off. It notices vMenu at start and the panel says it is there, because both can kick and ban players.

How do I bring my vMenu bans across?

Open Global bans, press Import bans, choose vMenu and upload its bans.json. Each ban keeps its reason and end date; vMenu does not record when a ban was placed, so those are dated the day you import them.

Will staff see money or inventories?

No. vMenu keeps no characters, money, items, jobs or owned vehicles, so there is nothing to read, and the panel says so rather than showing empty screens as though they were somebody’s.

Do I need to set anything up for vMenu?

No. Install the resource as on any server. Your staff get records, reports, bans and appeals, the trust score, the player log, Discord, and on Pro, live view and calls.
